This year we welcomed Neil Parker to the school as our full-time cleaner.
Neil has worked in the cleaning business for over 30 years, cleaning everything from shopping centres and schools to food laboratories. Neil’s vast experience is a real asset to the school in these times. Over the school holidays, Neil implemented a hospital standard deep clean of the entire school grounds and is now maintaining a full clean of the school buildings following every school day. Neil explains “In all my years I have never felt such an awesome responsibility, the children’s health is in my hands and I don’t take that lightly.”
It is a team effort to ensure the strictest of hygiene standards are maintained to care for our school community, teachers are also contributing to our new procedures by wiping down all human contact surfaces during the school day and reminding students to continually thoroughly wash and dry their hands between each activity.
The office staff are conducting regular audits of toilet facilities and cleaning supplies and there are hand towel dispenses and hand sanitiser in every classroom.
In early childhood, we have also modified the play space to remove all possible porous surfaces and implemented a new drop off and pick up procedures.
Whilst this is a testing time for everyone, we feel so grateful to have such a great team all working together.
