This term, Mansfield Steiner’s Year 10 students are taking part in a cultural exchange programme to Slovenia.

It was with great excitement and some tears that the bus departed on Sunday afternoon, bound for Melbourne International Airport.

The bus trip was full of discussion on currency exchange, sim cards and the all important Vegemite trade/introduction to our new Slovenian friends and family.

The aim of the exchange is to encourage our young people to have meaningful and authentic links to other peoples and cultures of the world.

Our students will spend ten weeks at Waldorfska šola School in Ljubljana. Students will be billeted with host families, attend camps and participate in classes at the school, and forge lasting friendships with their Slovenian peers.

We look forward to hearing their stories over the next few weeks and we will count the days until their return.
